This is a detective story, unfolding in the depths of the Panamanian jungle, where two scientists tease out the mysteries behind the night-time operation of the fringed-lipped bat. This air-bourne hunter cruises effortlessly through the dense foliage, somehow able to pinpoint its prey of a croaking frog through a tick wall of night sounds. Not only the predators locate and pounce upon the unfortunate frogs in the blckness of a tropical night- they are even able to distinguish between the edible and poisonous one.
