This book contains hundred and ninety four letters selected from Imam Rabbani Ahmad Faruqi's al-Maktubat. Imam Rabbani was born in the city of Sirhind in India in 971 (1563 AD) and passed away there in 1034 (1625 AD). The book Maktubat ws written in Persian and later it was translated into arabic in 1302 (1885 AD) by Muhammad Murad Kazani, and peinted in the city of Mecca with the name Durur al-Maknunat in 131 (1899 AD). The first volume of the book Maktubat contains three hundred and thirteen letters, the second volume contains ninety-nine letters, and the third contains hundred and twenty four letters. because the information given in most of this five hundred and thirty six letters expounds the hals and ma'rifat of the awliya', there is the danger they may be misunderstood. For this reason, hundred and ninety four letters containing information on iman and worships were selected to make up this book, al-Muntakhabat.
